Kinesiology

Kinesiology is a major for students interested in studying the art and science of human movement. The degree prepares students for challenging careers in a variety of areas including school physical education, community, worksite and hospital wellness, and the sports and fitness industry. The degree also provides a solid foundation and preparation for advanced study and acceptance into professional programs such as physical therapy.

Psychology & Counseling 

The Department of Psychology and Counseling teaches the application of dynamics of human adjustment to life.  The aims of the teaching focus on the preparation of students for more effective functioning as healthy human beings; the integration of personality; the practical application of psychology; and the initial preparation of psychologists at the undergraduate level.  At the graduate level, the Departmental focus is on the preparation of professional counselors at the masters, specialist, and doctoral level.  Graduate programs are accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).

Teacher Education & Leadership

The underlying purpose of the Department of Teacher Education & Leadership is to further the aim of the University in offering the opportunity for well-rounded higher education in a Christian environment.The general objective is the professional preparation of classroom teachers and the offering of specialized work in educational leadership.

The Department of Teacher Education & Leadership is responsible for the preparation of teachers,supervisors,and principals. The University is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education (AACTE) and is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
